Which graphics card to pick..................?

i want a new graphics card and am not sure wat to get

should i get a XFX GeForce 8600GTS XXX Ed 256MB DDR3 PCIE Dual DVI for 鎷?16.94

or

256MB XFX 8800GT PCI-E (x16), 1400 MHz, GDDR3, GPU 600 MHz, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I HDTV

for 鎷?17

?????

Which graphics card to pick..................?

no doubt go for the 8800GT. its much more powerful. 鎷?17 is a really good price. does it include vat? if you can stretch to a 512mb i would recommend doing so. dont worry about clock speeds, these cards are easy to overclock anyway.

Which graphics card to pick..................?

I think the first one is better...

Which graphics card to pick..................?

256MB XFX 8800GT has a bigger memory bus than the 8600 GTS

Which graphics card to pick..................?

Hey,

I'd definitely go with the 256MB XFX 8800GT PCI-E. It's a better card overall -- slightly slower clock speed, but much MUCH higher pixel pipelines and memory bandwidth (those matter way more.) Here's a link to a review on Tom's Hardware -- you can compare the cards there as well (the speeds and such are on the second page): http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/29/g...

Good Luck,

Which graphics card to pick..................?

i would go for the second one

it has more clock speed

so your grafix will be processed a bit faster

the rest is about the same :)

Which graphics card to pick..................?

the memory bus in this case isn't the deciding factor. The 8800gt will destroy the 86. It's a no brainer.

hi chris

neither mate,go for the 256MB AsusHD 3850 PCI-E 2.0 (x16) from http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductIn...

this is a much better card than the 8800gts series of cards, for example take a look at the stream processes, the hd 3850 has 320 streams compared to the 8800gts 120 streams

and the memory clock of 1650mhz is pretty nippy aswell, dont get me wrong the geforce 8800gts is a very good card and one of the most popular 8 series cards, probally due to the price of the 8800gtx

but i think you get more for your money with the asus hd3850,and it look quite good aswell

however if your still looking at either of the above two then the second one is a better model, and like i previously mentioned the 8800gts is a great performer

good luck mate !
