This graphics card any good?

Was wondering if this card is any good, I don閳ユ獩 want maximal performance on games I just don閳ユ獩 want lag, I want it mainly for Sims 2 and a few other games so any advice much appreciated.

The card you linked is really on the lower end of the performance spectrum. To really make a call on a good video card we need to know a few things. First of all what sort of machine do you have right now. Which o/s are you running will also make a difference as well. CPU speed can play a factor in "lagging" as well as the amount of system ram you have.

I have always been a ATI guy which is what I am running now. An ATI 2900xt which is over kill for your application not to mention power hungry and loud. I am also running a Intel core duo 2 e6600 overclocked to 3ghz with 4GB of ram and windows vista ultimate 64bit.

If your running windows vista a direct x 10 card is need to fully enjoy dx10 games (IE bioshock, crysis and a few others). If your running windows XP a direct x 10 is not necessary although nice to have if you plan to upgrade anytime soon to windows vista.

Without knowing all of your system specs I am going to recommend the following card...

The 3650 has great support for games and hardware assited playback of high definition video content. Its a good all around card.

I wouldn't call it good, it's adequate...but I guess there is only one way to find out for sure

Yeah as for just dragging on smoothly on low this is adequate.

it's very low end....it might play the sims smoothly on low settings...but that's about it...it's not a gaming card for sure

my daughter plays sims 2 with this card, it's fine at low resolutions, she uses 1280x1024 with no problems, if she has a lot of sims in one place, ie a party, then it can get a bit slow but otherwise it's fine.

it'll play sims 2 no probs, dont expect to much from new high end games tho. as long as your few other games aint crysis or cod4 then i will just about do.
