Better Graphics Card?

Hi

People

Im buying a PC with an integrated graphics card wanted to ask could I later add my own graphic card of a higer spec to use on this machine?

Many Thanks

Better Graphics Card?

You should have no problem adding a graphics card later. All you need is an AGP or open PCI slot, depending upon the card you are adding. Your BIOS will handle in one of two ways - 1.) It will sense the added graphics card and use it by default(you will need to make sure the drivers are loaded of course), or 2.) You disable the integrated card in the BIOS setup. My computer has an integrated graphics card, but I use an nVidia GeForce 6800 GS.

What machine is it? (Manufacturer, Model #, etc.)

It's nice to recommend a card, but it's hard to recommend one if you don't know if it's PCI-E or AGP, or it may have neither and only have PCI slots.

Well the previous answer is right, but the current technology for graphics cards is PCI Express, and if you don't have that, you are going to have trouble upgrading graphics in the future. Check and make sure the system you are buying has a PCI Express x16 slot.

just make sure that your motherboard as some sort of PCI/ PCI-E/ or AGP slot

if it does, then it should be able to

try your hardest find one that has a PCI Expresss (PCI-E) slot in it
