What graphics card should i get.?

I have battlefield 2142 and I'd like to know what graphics card i should get. Which one is better, the 7900 gs, or the 8600 gt. I found one 8600 gt for $140, and a 7900 gs for $170. I'd like the 8600 gt, but i also want the better one. Which one should i buy.

What graphics card should i get.?

I think 8600GTS or 7950GT is better...

What graphics card should i get.?

8600 gt that one sounds the better and cheaper

What graphics card should i get.?

I have the 7900 GS. It runs that game on full no problems. There are a lot of other factors though like CPU and RAM. Also, those cards are out of date and you should only be really looking at the 8800 series. Anyways, I would go with the 8600 GT. A little slower than the 7900GS but you get DirectX 10 with it.

What graphics card should i get.?

I'd go for the 8600, has GDDR3 memory and Direct X 10 compatibility.

What graphics card should i get.?

none of the above!

XFX GeForce 8800 GTS Extreme

and/or

Diamond Radeon HD 2400 Pro 256MB PCIe

What graphics card should i get.?

always check out specs first

GeForce 7900 GS

Graphics Bus Technology PCI Express

Memory 256MB

Memory Interface 256-bit

Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 42.2

Fill Rate (Billion pixels/sec) 9

Vertices/Second 822.5 Million

Pixels per clock (peak) 20

RAMDACs (MHz) 400

GeForce 8600 GT

Stream Processors 32

Core Clock (MHz) 540

Shader Clock (MHz) 1180

Memory Clock (MHz) 700

Memory Amount 256MB GDDR3

Memory Interface 128-bit

Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 22.4

Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 8.6

in conclusion,

7900 is better cos it is using 256-bit memory interface. compare memory bandwidth and you can see doubled perf on 7900.

also, fill rate of 7900 is slightly better.

one comment on Direct X 10. lots of people seem to think its the way to go, but i run XP so i dont care about Direct X 10. i am not moving to Vista. when i use Vista, i expect to cough up a bomb to ensure full Vista compatibility (probably in 2009)

GCSE Graphics homework help (10 points awarded)?

The homework is "find out what legislation exists for the graphics printing industry". I've used a lot of search engines and etc and still cannot find this please can someone help me 10 points awarded.

I don't know anything about what you're talking about, but there's something about printing in it.

If its a load of old jabber, I'm sorry!

GCSE Graphics homework help (10 points awarded)?

I believe your homework should involve copyright agreements and the freedom of information as well as how to correctly source materials used that are not your own.

So basically I think it is to do with who has the rights to the graphics used and do you have their permission to use it.

I could be wrong but I can't think of anything else

Video/graphics?

is there a difference between graphics cards and video cards? if so, what?

Video/graphics?

They are same, there's no difference (except the name).

Video/graphics?

They are basically the same. There's really no difference today between the words. There might have been years ago before 3D and other enhanced graphic features came out.

Here's a list of other Yahoo Answers on the same topic.

What graphics card will work in my PC?

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop. What graphics cards would be compatible with my PC and which would you recommend for gaming (not necessarily on the high end)? My PC is fairly small inside, so I think a riser card would be needed to fit a normal sized card.

What graphics card will work in my PC?

We use the 755's here at my work. They use a low profile card. They are a pci-express slot, so you have options, but just limited to the low profile aspect. You can get them from Dell, and you can find them online, but make sure you look for the low profile card. As for gaming, I prefer the Nvidia's, but the ATI's work great too.

What graphics card will work in my PC?

ATI Radeon

What graphics card will work in my PC?

Do you have AGP slots?

IF not then you have to go PCI...

Something along the ASUS line,

Good gaming graphics card.

What graphics card will work in my PC?

You have to be careful when modifying dells. I heard they have compatibility issues. You also need to open your computer up and see what kind of video card slot you have before shopping around.

What graphics card will work in my PC?

probobly a pci graphics card its to new to be vga, go on to a website like ebuyer get a good one at a cheap price you could get a 256mb for about 鎷?5 well cheap or maybe try the officol dell website hope this info is helpful,,,,

What graphics card will work in my PC?

do you have agp,pci ex, or pci. if you don't know pen the side of comp at the bottom left corner there will be a bunch of slots.small white=pci large white= PCI ex large brown/black/red=agp.

Serious graphics card problem!?

Hi. My computer has been restarting randomly over the past month. At first I thought iy was my power supply... I was wrong.

I bought a new power supply, by Arctic Cooling, 450 Watt which is fine for my computer. But the still restarts on its own, giving the error message:

RV410 ATOMBIOS TSOP MEMORY

My RAM is fine, that narrows it down to my GFX card, which is about 2 years old now, an ATI Radeon X700.

My Q is this... how could a graphics card be causing system restarts? Is it hardware, or software?

Serious graphics card problem!?

Many factors can contribute to random restarts with a machine. If your card is malfunctioning it may be sending electrical surges through the motherboard and causing the power to temporarily die.

On the other hand it could be a software issue where the OS isn't communicating properly with the rest of the machine.

Try a reinstall of your OS and if the issues persists, try it without your graphics card.

Serious graphics card problem!?

?

Serious graphics card problem!?

overheating can cause auto shutdowns, make sure your heat sink hasent fallen off or anything

Serious graphics card problem!?

sounds like its more likely to be overheating check your cpu fan overheating causes this problem (i had it) if using amd try disabling auto fan control in bios whilst still running cool n quiet - means your cpu voltage is lowered when not in use but your cpu fan runs at ~4000rpm all the time = 35 degree cpu :)

Serious graphics card problem!?

maybe it's cause by the incompatible between ur pc casing with the motherboard that cause ur motherboard cannot hold the graphic card in the right place..might be also u have to remove the exist graphic driver and install the latest driver.

Serious graphics card problem!?

it might be your computer over heating or your computer might need more power in the power supply like 1000 watts

Serious graphics card problem!?

There is obviously something wrong. You need a new graphic card. I'm sorry. That's just what you need. OK? Get one. It's what you need. It's really important. Trust me. OK?

Serious graphics card problem!?

hi mate

the restarts occur bacause of a hardware problem, its windows way of protecting your p.c from any damage

you can override the restarts by right clicking my computer%26gt;advanced%26gt;start up and recovery%26gt;untick "automatically restart",this will stop the restarts however the reason for the restarts still needs investigating

as for it being your graphics card, well the catylyst control center has a built in option for "graphic card failure",which will basically stop your card from working when it has a problem, you will find this in the "catylyst control center%26gt;vpu recovery

the best way to locate the problem is to allocate each day to a certain peice of hardware, for example tommorow concentrate on the hard drive, and if you can put as much stress as you can on the drive

then the next day hit the games, this will put the graphics card under stress

then if the p.c restarts more than normal on a specific day then you will know which hardware is causing the problem, and considering that the average p.c only has around 7 main components this will only take a week

its basically "trial and error",its the slowest method but the most effective

hope this helps

good luck mate !
