NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

Hi guys im looking for a laptop. I found 2 that i like, The 2 laptops are pretty much the same (same processor, same amount of ram) but the 2 graphics cards are different.

1) 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

2) NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT

Which is better ? and by how far ?

PS : im a huge gamer from CSS to Etqw to Maybe even Crysis ?

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

The 8600 Gt sli is better.

individually, a 8600 GT is weaker than a 7900 GS (the 8600 is a 128 bit card), but in sli, it beats the 7900 GS.

Plus, it includes DX-10 support, great for games like crysis.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

Definantly the second one. It is not only a better card but there are two of them SLI'd together (working together for smoother performance)

If you want to play high end PC games (especially Crysis) could you please post the other computer spec's?

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

Ok,I have the second one,and must say it's great....I'm also a game fan,I play Crysis with this one without any problems, but you will need at least 2GB of ram to play games well with this card.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

2... by a long shot.... the 7900 is all right, but the 8600 is pretty good, especially with 2 of em...

sli, means you have 2 cards

nvidia also works in a number system 8600%26gt;7900 therefore better.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

The 8600M GT is better than the 7900.

Very simply, the 8600 has a faster GPU and more RAM to work with. While it is a good card, I would be a little hesitant on how well it plays games on a mobile platform.

CSS: No problem

ETQW: Should play no problem.

Crysis: Might choke a little bit.

Happy gaming.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT

get 2x cards (:

Generally you can see how each card is better by what they'er capable of, their series and coding.

Series: 8600 is of course the 8000 series white 7900 being in the 7000 series. The higher the series, the later, the better. (:

Coding: GT %26gt; GS, GS is only suitable for office work and will completely ruin your gaming experience. By far, it goes

GTX%26gt;GTS%26gt;GT%26gt;GS. (:

and as you can see! 8600M is capable of running your display in SLi mode, which is ownage. :D

Oh and btw, if you have Vista on the laptop, you would have to make sure you have at least 2gb of ram. if you're gaming, i'd go for 4g ~ 8g. Some might say it's 'Overkill', but that's how i have 300 fps on CSS.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

The sli 8600m by far, not even a competition.

A single 8600 maxes out almost every game I can find, including massive ones like FSX. Two of them will be insane.

The 8600 is also a dx10 capable card and the 7900 is not.

In every way shape and form a single 8600 outdoes the 7900, two will undoubtedly be incredible.

I own one of them and have used the other. Some of these people are confusing the 7900 for the 7800gtx which is faster than either card, but not the sli 8600. The 7900 is like a bargain version of the 7800 with lower performance.

Stick with 2gb of RAM too, there is no reason to go for more. I run vista on my laptop and I have 2gb and it has never come close to using 2gb even with the best games I can find.

If you end up needing more its the easiest upgrade out there so dont waste your money if you dont have to.

NVIDIA Graphics Card Question !?

go for the 8600m gt.... its more recent chip... the 7900 is last years chip
